Fast Track is an Oxford-based research, publishing and events company with a successful seven-year track record. We currently publish five annual league tables as sponsored colour supplements in The Sunday Times, focusing on Britain's most dynamic unquoted companies, and organise around 20 sponsored awards events and private entrepreneur dinners each year.

The following vacancies are immediately available:

Director of research

Attractive package - dependent on relevant experience and performance (Up to £50,000 basic + bonus)

•Direct and manage on a day-to-day basis a small team of full and part-time graduate researchers, help gather and analyse detailed qualitative and quantitative data on unquoted companies, and plan and meet tight production schedules of league tables and supplements published with The Sunday Times business section.
•Show an interest in, and knowledge of, unquoted companies in the UK, a good understanding of company accounts and other relevant issues such as venture capital, private equity and emerging tech companies.
•Play a leading role in helping the company both to formalize current procedures, and to help develop new products and new sponsors.
•Be able to demonstrate between 5 to 10 years successful track record of conducting research (preferably company related) and managing and training research teams, including concise writing and editing skills and a high level of computer and database literacy.
•Have exceptional attention to detail and project management skills, and ability to deal effectively and knowledgably under pressure with CEOs of companies, high level sponsor contacts and the business editor and production staff at The Sunday Times.

Research manager (Up to £26,000)

•Manage the compilation of one or more league tables of unquoted companies, leading a team of full-time and part-time researchers, and setting up and meeting publication deadlines.
•Identify, research and case study fast-growing unquoted companies through in-depth telephone and face-to-face interviews of their CEOs.
•Write and edit concise company profiles and editorial features for publication in The Sunday Times colour supplement and in research reports.
•Role requires graduate with excellent written and verbal communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, research/journalism experience, some familiarity with company accounts, and an interest in fast-growth companies and entrepreneurs.
